Mauritau describes the state of being calm, relaxed, and without panic. When our mauri or vital energy is at rest, hauora - wellbeing - comes naturally.
"10 stars! Laura has redefined for me what makes a good massage. I hesitate about taking up other massueses because she is unbelievably good. She takes care to listen and personalises each session. I'm constantly recommending her and gifting vouchers to the whanau because it really is such a nice experience to receive."
What makes a Mauritau massage different?
Your restorative treatment is specially tailored to your needs, and draws on years of training and experience in Swedish massage, myofascial release, hot stone massage, pre-natal massage, deep-tissue massage, sports massage, aromatherapy and rongoā Māori.
Meet the Mauritau Team...
Intoducing my own massage therapist, Jana!
Jana is passionate about facilitating healing processes in individuals, be it on a physiological or metaphysical level, and she brings with her a wealth of wisdom, skills and experience.
Jana first started giving Nurturing Touch massage in 2013, as is a form of palliative massage for the elderly and those with life-threatening illnesses.
She then studied Relaxation Massage with me in 2018 at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies, where we became fast friends and colleagues.
Jana is currently massaging special needs clients at her beautiful home clinic in Torbay, where she also sees private clients (should you live closer to her!)
A life-long student, Jana is exploring rongoā Māori through various wānanga, and she has recently completed Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Lymphatic Drainage.
I am proud and excited to welcome Jana to the Mauritau team, and if you are lucky enough to get a session with her, I know that you are in very good hands!
